Sono Manuela Russo, archeologa e guida turistica abilitata in inglese e spagnolo. Il mio bagaglio culturale è fatto di studi classici, esperienze all’estero per affinare le competenze linguistiche, curiosità e passione. Immaginazione e conoscenza mi aiutano oggi a guardare le città siciliane come se fossero pagine di un meraviglioso libro di storia. Sfogliandole possiamo tuffarci, di volta in volta, in un tempo lontano cui possiamo rintracciare le nostre radici. Sembra che lo stesso Federico II, giunto in Palestina per riconquistare Gerusalemme, disse guardandosi intorno: “sarebbe questa la terra di latte e miele? Il Signore non ha visto il mio Regno di Sicilia?!”. Una bellezza che da secoli non sfugge agli occhi dei suoi ospiti e dei suoi conquistatori e che l’isola conserva, pressappoco intatta, ancora oggi. Ed è qui, tra le vestigia della sua millenaria storia e la prepotente bellezza della sua natura, che vi voglio portare!
I am Manuela Russo, an archaeologist and licensed tour guide in English and Spanish. My personal background is made up by classical studies, experiences abroad to improve my languages skills, curiosity and passion. Imagination and knowledge help me today to look at the sicilian cities as they were like pages of a wonderful history book. Leafing through them we could go back to a distant time in which we may trace our civilization roots. It seems that Fredrick II himself, when he just arrived to Palestine in order to reconquer Jerusalem, said looking around: “would this be the so famous honey and milk land? Hasn’t the Lord seen my Kingdom of Sicily?!”. Through the time its conquerors and guests didn’t miss the beauty of the island which is still so well preserved. And it is here that I would like to bring you, among the vestiges of its thousand-years history and the overbearing beauty of its nature.
